WEEK: 2nd
LEFT: Deinised water
RIGHT: Lake waterSampling took place on October 21, 2016 in Vrellis lake of Ioannina in a region located about 2 meters from the lakeshore. For our experiment, we used two plastic bottles, the 1/6 of which was filled with a mix of mud and nutrients. As a source of carbon and sulfur, we used two sheets of newspaper and two eggs respectively. The rest of the bottles was filled with pure mud to approximately the 5/6 of their height. Then, we added water taken from the lake to one of the bottles and deionised water to the other. We assume that we will observe intense growth of microorganisms in the bottle which was filled with lake water (A), compared to the bottle filled with deionised water (A) due to the lack of microorganisms and salts in it
