The composition of the column is:
- 20,54 g of mud
- 20,05 g of dirt
- 61,84 g of salt
- 0,11 g of paper (Carbon source)
- 0,15 g of plaster (Plaster´s formula is CaSO4·H2O, so adding it works providing calcium and sulfur)
The purpose of our column is to prove if there is halophilic bacteria in Rio San Pedro's sediment and if these bacteria can grow under these conditions.
I am certain there is something wrong with the components.. you have added more salt than sediment?
ReplyDeleteWhat do you expect to see if halophilic bacteria grow? How will the light affect your column?
