After almost 6 weeks, there isn’t news in our winogradsky’s
column, just a Little bubble on it. This bubble means that iron oxidizing
bacteria still living in our winogradsky column.
Salinity was mesured, and it is 125. Knowing that the usual
salinity of sea is around 35-40 we are able to say that iron oxidizing bacteria
can live at this kind of salinity conditions.
The green you see is not the olive green of the green sulfur bacteria. Also the black you see is not from iron oxidisers, but from sulfate reducers.
