UCA_10A_1: Day 14

Rio San Pedro sediment+paper+1.5g FeSO4
We had made our Winogransdy column as follow: we added some Rio San Pedro sediment wich contains wood sticks and some little rocks. Then we added 1.5g of FeSo4 , and two pieces of teared paper with is made of cellulose. We moved all this ingredients and put it all in our plastic bottle, until fill the 3/4 of our bottle. We conclude our preparation adding water found in the same place where the sediment was pick up, completing the last 1/4 of the bottle.
We put a lid on our bottle slightly and then we put our bottle in the dark zone of the laboratory. We classmates put theirs in an illuminated zone next to a window.
Day 14 comment:

We observed our bottle, it looked different. We found a lot of black and dark patch all over the bottle(Figure 1), and a big made on the bottom. It was microorganisms, a bacteria wich transforms the inicial FeSO4 in FeS by their metabolism, we have to remember that all this happened in a anaerobic medium, without O2... That´s all about our first revision of our bottle...Hope you read us the next days! Enjoy our ''coloring' pics... We'll post information soon!!
